UNICEF goes 350
The team at UNICEF will be busy over the next four months working closely with our five young Kiwi Climate Ambassadors to prepare for the international Children’s Climate Forum. The Children’s Forum takes place in the week before the UN conference where it is hoped world leaders will agree on an ambitious and effective international response to climate change.
I’m crossing my fingers that the Kiwi ambassadors will be joined at the Children’s Forum by a youth delegation from Kiribati. Wouldn’t it be fantastic to use this global platform to talk about how climate change is affecting children and young people in the South Pacific? After all, young people didn’t get us into this global warming mess, but they are the ones who will need to get us out of it –it’s only fair then that young people have a chance to be heard!
